Black shift dress

Morning Everyone! New week, same old weather. Cannot wait to walk the pavements again in safety. So we’re on a bit of a bridesmaid buzz at the moment, having had a number of requests for assistance in finding the perfect bridesmaid dresses from brides getting married in the New Year. So today we’re sharing the fruits of one of our latest searches – a selection of floor-length black bridesmaid gowns. We took the opportunity to find a complete mixed bag of dresses encompassing every style from ruffles to asymmetrical, empire waistlines to simple shift dresses.

The new LBD – Long Black Dress

For a simple and elegant bridesmaid – this gorgeous simple shift dress (1) is from French Connection, but it’s from a past collection so there’s only limited availability. Would look great with a big vintage brooch on the neckline. (2) BCBG Max Azria is stocked in Arnotts – this black jersey grecian-style dress is an example of the great range, worth checking out to see what’s in stock.

(3) John Lewis don’t have a branch in Ireland but they are all over the UK – they stock loads of brand names and also have their own in-house collections, including this ruffled one-shoulder black dress. It’s a little shorter than floor-length but could be a great choice for a more petite bridesmaid. One of my personal favourites is this mid-length fitted dress (4) available from Camille Boutique in Malahide (also comes in a very hot red). It wouldn’t be a search for a bridesmaid dress if you didn’t check Coast, and true to form, they have a number of pretty long black dresses perfect for bridesmaids including this one-shoulder very grown-up evening gown (5). Finally, for a touch of glamour what about this Adriana Papell gown (6) available to order from Nordstroms. Ordering from the US isn’t always ideal, but the delivery charges are good, and the prices are brilliant.

Another great choice from Coast is this  simple jersey dress with pretty lace detailing on the back (7)Chica Boutique in the Westbury Mall has this black front knot jersey dress (8). Simple and elegant, some beautiful accessories would make it shine. For a more fashion-forward look, this asymmetrical jersey dress from the Outnet (9) is great value and a cool choice if your bridesmaids have the figures. Also a little more avant-garde is this drop-waisted halterneck dress from Ted Baker (10).
